The Wertheimpark is the oldest park in Amsterdam. It’s also the only park within the historic city centre. This park was opened to the public in 1812 and is located in the Plantagebuurt. The Botanical Garden and Artis Zoo are nearby. In the Wertheimpark you’ll find a natural stone fountain from 1898. In this area the annual National Holocaust Memorial takes place at the Auschwitz monument. The 0.75-hectare park offers excellent opportunities for relaxing during a walk or when you visit the surrounding attractions.
