Without doubt this is the most lively park in Amsterdam. The Vondelpark is a city park dating back to 1865. It’s located just outside the city centre past the Rijksmuseum. The Vondelpark was developed under the name Nieuwe Park. initially it was privately owned but since 1953 it’s owned by the Municipality of Amsterdam. The park is designed in the English landscape style, it measures 47 hectares and it’s rich in pavilions, ponds, monuments, a swimming pool, open-air theater, playgrounds and sandboxes. Here you can easily relax in the middle of the busy city.
